Starfield Nashville, Tennessee (April 2, 2008)— Award-winning Canadian worship band Starfield makes a dramatic return to their modern worship roots on their third studio album I Will Go which released March 25th. The band reached yet another career milestone this week with a top 10 chart position, no. 7 at Christian Retail, the highest in the band’s career.

Immediately before hitting this impressive mark, the album landed at No. 1 on iTunes Christian charts and stayed at the peak spot for the entire week. The mere 10 hours it took Starfield’s third offering to reach the number one slot serves as a testament to their growing fan base and the anticipation generated via online marketing for the record. 51% of first week sales of I Will Go came in the form of digital downloads.

Starfield, always active online creating videos on the road and posting them to YouTube and their own MySpace page, have given fans an inside look at the life of a band on the road and sneak peeks at the music months in advance of the album hitting stores. Bloggers were treated to early tastes of I Will Go and responded with unanimous endorsements of the band’s musical progression and their exhortation to their fans to go beyond themselves and to live with a heart for missions.

“Railing against the stagnant faith that threatens to engulf an apathetic generation, Starfield’s I Will Go keeps pushing the limits of modern worship musically, corporately, and personally.” –Backseat Writer

Traditional media also chimed in, CCM Magazine says that I Will Go “rocks from one track to the next, but still maintains the group’s brand of genuine, relevant worship.” CMCentral adds that the album “will please lovers of guitar-driven pop with a vertical bent,” and JesusFreakHideout calls the release “a solid modern worship record.” The Album Project notes that “Starfield seem to mature tenfold with every album they put out, and I Will Go is no exception.”

Capping off a busy week of concerts and radio visits, Starfield made a stop in Atlanta, Georgia for their debut on Gospel Music Channel’s hit show “Kitchen Sink.” The band performed three songs (two that aired on the show and one that is a web exclusive) and were interviewed by host Elle Duncan.

Starfield’s next single “Reign In Us” officially goes for adds April 14th, but the song has already attracted attention by those who have listened to the album. CMCentral calls the song “melodic magic” and “a moving and anthemic plea for the power of God.”

Starfield just wrapped up the Vision of You Tour with Shane & Shane and Bethany Dillon. As the tour moves north of the border and changes its name to the I Will Go Tour, Starfield will be headlining the Canadian dates. The three acts will tour Canada for the month of April and May. Tour dates can be found at starfieldonline.com and myspace.com/starfield.
